John Powers
Mr. Powers has practiced intellectual property law exclusively for the last eleven years, the first eight of which was with two large law firms in Pittsburgh, PA. In this time, he has prepared and prosecuted over 400 patent applications, and has worked to secure quality patent protection in the U.S. and abroad for clients in the vast majority of those cases.
Example technologies he has worked on include assemblies within nuclear reactors, electrical switching apparatus, ultrasound equipment, CPAP devices, syringes, wireless headsets, autonomous driving technologies, eCommerce systems, machine tooling and related systems, hardware tools, pet toys, electrical receptacles, and pharmaceutical packaging technologies.
Additionally, over the years John has worked in other capacities in the intellectual space, including helping numerous clients secure trademark and copyright protection, performing patent searching, providing patent infringement analysis, as well as providing litigation support when needed.
In his free time, John enjoys spending time with his wife, golfing, playing pickle ball, hiking, reading, creative writing, and Greek dancing.
